FreeBird

New Year's Resolution : Fly like a Bird!!!

Acrylic paint and crackle medium, FontWerks stamp, Maya Road chipboard bird, EK Success Bookworks stickers.

8 of diamonds.

(Mad - I think I like the crackle medium better than the Tim Holtz crackle paint, but I guess its dependent on just how much crackle you'd like. I let the crackle medium dry most of the way for this, less on that other goddess piece I did for you a couple of years ago. That goddess piece had a ton more crackle.)

Scary Cute

I can never decide whether or not the Geico Gekko is scary or cute. Seeing it larger than life up on the JUMBOTRON at the Sharks games (that's ice hockey to the uninitiated!) is very disconcerting. Of course, if you see/hear the commercial, the English accent is truly charming! Or maybe its the big baby creature eyes that hook us in.

The path of the inspiration...I got the Geico ad in the paper, thot about doing a daily card with the picture, and then heard the Geico commercial targeted at Californians. The gekko sez we get lower rates and then "next thing you know it'll start raining gumdrops." One can dream...

Gesso, lime and medium green acrylic paint, punched snowflakes, American Typewriter font. (Thanks Christina Clouse for the text editing tips!) Jack of spades.

Oh Deer!

Deer or Moose?! I like to think of him as a reindeer! Mad and I got a boxful of these cute felt fellas at Borders bookstore, in that section that sells all the cards and gw and embellies. The background paper is Queen & Co., punched snowflakes, red acrylic paint, hand cut stars. 6 of clubs.
